The Chicago South Asian Arts Council (CSAAC), organizer of the 4-year running Chicago South Asian Film Festival, has announced the 2014 launch of I2F2- Next Generation Festival. The event will take place between May 29 and June 5 in Downtown Evanston and will showcase films from and by filmmakers from South Asia, the Middle East, and Israel.

The film festival will be organized in conjunction with the City of Evanston and will be the first of its kind to provide a platform for rising artists, including first-time and student filmmakers.

i2F2 expands across a larger geographical spectrum with the vision to establish the Midwest’s first film and entertainment marketplace. i2F2 will accept open submissions and consider films recommended by festival curators Deepti D’Cunha, Amy Kronish, and Abu Dhabi Film Festival’s Intishal Al Timimi. D’Cunha has worked as the Indian Consultant to the Venice Film Festival and the Rome Film Festival and will assume the same role with I2F2. Kronish and Al Timimi will serve as Israeli and Middle East consultants respectively. Other ambassadors of the festival include Evanston Mayor Elizabeth Tisdahl, Aparna Sen, Shabana Azmi and Lillete Dubey.
