Synopsis:
Upon returning home from college, Ahmed decides to postpone his medical school plans.
Aided by his ailing grandfather, Ahmed insteads begins his own dawakhana.
Though his father disapproves of his pursuit of the dying art, Ahmed is determined.
Propelled by the need to keep his grandfather Akmal alive, Ahmed struggles to find the cure he is looking for.
He must learn that easing someone’s pain is just as important as taking it away.

Director
Ariella Khan is a Chicago-based writer and director raised between the Midwest of America and Karachi, Pakistan.
In 2021, she graduated from Northwestern University where she studied creative writing and film. Her coming of age short film Roti, played at festivals across the country.
Much of her work focuses on grappling with her Pakistani-American identity and the intersections of assimilation, colonization, and intergenerational familial relationships.
Her favorite food is ice cream 🙂
