Kaash (If Only)
Kaash, explores the endless possibilities of “if only.” Tired of a relationship that he fears is on its last leg, Aadil – a photographer and a dreamer– embarks on a journey from Bombay (Mumbai) to Gujarat, to meet a girl he has vaguely connected with over the internet. The girl he meets, Khushali, triggers memories of his girlfriend Samira – a Bollywood starlet on the rise. The more he gets to know Khushali, the more he is reminded of Samira. The film becomes a reference to his past, revealing the vagaries of his relationship. The film also acts as a metaphor for the “journey of the self”–weighing possibilities and paths, attempting to balance stability and spontaneity, dreams and reality. As he travels, Aadil meets the characters in Khushali’s life. With haunting Kutch as the landscape, the viewer is drawn into Aadil’s world, where any path is possible, but the catch lies in which one he would not take.
