Line Of Duty [Shorts Session 2]
A Young recruit of the Indian army posted at a remote bunker, is asked to forego his principals of humanity against the rigid border regulations. With a natural calamity at hand, are all regulations applicable? Inspired by True events.
Director
After graduating from Film school in Los Angeles, Mayank started his career in India as an Assistant Director on big budget feature films and commercials.
His father being from the armed forces has given Mayank the opportunity to grow up in a variety of different cities including Mauritius, Bangalore, New Delhi, Los Angeles and Mumbai.
Being a traveller and storyteller has helped him through the years in experiencing the different outlooks of life belonging to various parts of the world, and thats the subject that interest him the most; the regular lives in the spaces we don’t know.
Director’s Note: Inspired from a true incident. Line of Duty is the story of humanity, a story which portrays the lives led by soldiers on international borders around the world; and how they are conditioned to perceive regular things in a very different way.
Every soldier on the border is serving to protect and to survive, can both be done at the same time? How do we decide what to protect? and when to survive?
Lt. Rohan Batra has a very curious approach towards rationalising responsibilities.
Line of Duty’s simple goal is to tell the story of Soldiers across border around the world, and how they tend to bend their principals of humanity in order to satisfy the stiff border regulations set by their respective authorities.
Line of Duty being a story about an imbalance in the military system is something Mayank has heard about through his growing years while living in different military stations.
Soldiers aren’t given their right due by most of the citizens of their nations, but it’s time we see the inner military perspective which could possibly show us the reasons behind the current mindset of the nations.
