On the threshold of womanhood, amidst the bright colorful flurry of an Indian bridal shower, two young girls pass a secret designed to alter their lives forever.
Director
Sudeshna Sen taught Classical Japanese Literature, Language and Visual Culture as an Assistant Professor at University of Utah and at UC Berkeley as a Postdoctorate Fellow. She has a Ph.D in Classical Japanese from University of Oregon. She retired from teaching in 2012 so she could focus more on making films rather than analyzing them with her students.
Her debut short film JULIA’S FARM (2015) screened at Riverside International Film Festival in April 2015 followed by HollyShorts in Los Angeles. Locally it screened at Bumbershoot and Local Sightings Film Festival. She is in post-production for her third short film, MEHNDI. She is an Associate Producer for THIN SKIN (dir. Charles Mudede- pre-production) Sudeshna has also worked on several local films –Sadie (dir. Megan Griffiths 2017) AUTO (dir Steven Schardt 2016) MOPZ (dir. Todd Rohal 2016), My Last Year With The Nuns (dir. Bret Fetzer 2014) and post-production ADR for Big in Japan (dir. John Jeffcoat 2014).
