No English [Pre-Feature Short]
Drawing its title from a phrase familiar enough with the common immigrant, No English acts as a window into the South Asian diaspora across Toronto. Inspired by ideas of lineage, cultural art, and nonconformity, No English provides a visual narrative depicting a spectrum of multiculturalism that has thrived off of refusing to let go of one’s heritage. Given its lack of narration and dialogue, the production makes its points through imagery and sound. No English serves its purpose by empowering the community through an optimistic scope.
