Shiva [Shorts Session 2]
A portrait film of a devotee’s love for Shiva, one of the most powerful gods in the Hindu religion. Although not born into the Hindu religion, Hansa Mehta developed an auspicious and deep love for the powerful Hindu god Shiva since the age of 10. Now at the age of 71, Hansa is more determined than ever to build a public temple dedicated to Shiva in the United States in spite of the current state of politics surrounding immigration and religion.
Director
Radha’s passion for storytelling started with her songwriting with original music featured on popular TV shows across networks including USA, MTV, E!, Oxygen, WE, VH1. She has since crossed over to filmmaking with a current focus on Indian / American culture. Her recent award-winning short film “I’m Going to Marry This Boy” was featured in various film festivals ands spoke to the age-old tradition of arranged marriages in India and how her mother chose to defy it with love and understanding. Her current film, “Shiva”, which also features her mother, speaks to the love and strong devotion to one of the most powerful Hindu gods, Shiva.
