thayakam (தாயகம்/Motherland) follows a disillusioned environmentalist through Sri Lanka's war-scarred Northern and Northwestern provinces, where marginalised communities face the most brutal consequences of climate crisis: sea-level rise, salinization, extreme weather, and punishing heat. The protagonist seeks change in a land known for deep loss at the intersections of political oppression, climate crisis and extractive development.
