Volunteer Roles

Marketing Coordinator:

The Marketing Coordinator will assist the Marketing Manage on projects related to the Pre-Festival and At-Festival tasks.  Some of these projects include Research, Implementing Market Strategies, Program Briefings, Print Deliverables, Press Pack, Proofreading/Editing and Being a Community Liaison.  Attributes that will help the role: Strong written and verbal communication skills, attention to detail, work independently as well as within a group setting, ability to meet deadlines and any past experience in the Festival environment is a plus.

 

Social Media Coordinator:

The Social Media Coordinator will work closely and report up to the Marketing Manager. They will focus on promoting CSAFF events, creating and monitoring traffic on Social Media (such as Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, blogging, etc.) They will also help with maintaining a social media production calendar and researching new opportunities in Digital Marketing.  Attributes that will help the role: Strong written and verbal communication skills, attention to detail, efficiency with the use of Social Media, work independently as well as within a group setting, organizational and research skills

 

Graphic Design Artists: 

Graphic Design Artists will assist the Marketing Manager to create print to electronic event posters, flyers, program booklet, banner, design gift bags and help with proofreading.  Attributes that will help the role: Strong written and verbal communication skills, attention to detail, advance skills in design software such as Photoshop, Illustrator and InDesign is a must, ability to meet deadlines, previous experience is working for a film festival is a plus.

 

Festival Coordinator:

The Festival Coordinator will assist the Festival Coordinator in managing contacts, updating media list, and assist with general office management – including coordinating with filmmakers, talent and press. Attributes that will help the role: attention to detail, ability to meet deadlines, good organizational skills, written and verbal communication skills.

 

Event Coordinator:

The Event Coordinator will assist the Special & Festival Event Managers in managing all festival locations, after party venues and being mindful of all festival and sponsor needs. Attributes that will help the role: attention to detail, good organizational skills, ability to meet deadlines, good written and verbal communication skills, and excellent people skills

 

Festival Programming Coordinator:

Festival Programming Coordinator will assist the Festival Programming Manager with tracking film submissions, sending correspondents to filmmakers, administrative tasks other ad hoc projects. They will also be a liaison with filmmakers and community partners.  Attributes that will help the role: Strong written and verbal communication skills, attention to detail, strong organizational skills, ability to meet deadlines, work in a team and independently and past experience in the Festival environment is a plus.

 

VIP/Filmmaker Liaison:

The Liaison will assist the Hospitality Manager with guest itineraries, master Day-to-Day schedule, coordinate flight/hotel arrangements, and other ad hoc Liaison tasks. Attributes that will help the role: attention to detail, good written and verbal communication skills, work independently and in a team setting, excellent organizational and people skills.

 

Press Coordinator:

The Press Coordinator will assist the Press Relations Manager in writing scheduled press releases for the Festival. They will also help with the distribution of Press Releases, coordination of the Press Conference and compilation of all festival coverage into a yearly report. Attributes that will help the role attention to detail, excellent written and verbal communication skills, good organizational and people skills, work in a team setting and independently.

 

Filmmakers:

Filmmakers will manage editing for trailers, making minifilms for the festival such as a minute trailer on the Festival Sponsors or the Chicago South Asian Film Festival team, and help with ad hoc projects. Attributes that will help the role attention to detail, excellent written and verbal communication skills, good organizational and people skills, work in a team setting and independently, film making experience and editing experience is mandatory for the role.
